WorkshopFinding Edible Plants |
Explanation
Vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates, proteins and fats. They can all be found in the forest. We are going to find edible leaves, fruits, roots, nuts and flowers. We might also encounter some edible mushrooms. You will not only learn which plants are edible, their names and what they look like, but on the spot in nature at each plant also learn about where it grows, when it grows, what's in it, what parts you can eat, how you should prepare those parts and what you should especially not confuse it with. There is a lot of edibles to be found in the Dutch forests and fields. At this workshop we also address a number general safety points when eating wild plants. We will certainly do other findings in the forest, that have to do with water, fire, shelter or general bushcraft skills. The workshop Gathering and Preparing Plants is the extended version of this workshop.

Reacties van deelnemers aan deze workshop
- "It was a very fun and inspring workshop. Walking in nature got a new dimension! I am definitely going to follow a workshop again at this organisation." (Malissa Koedijk from Alkmaar, Juni 2014)
- "Thanks to this nice and educative workshop, plants have become quite a bit more interesting!" (Ron, Juni 2014)
- "And then to consider that I used to be thinking they were weeds... It was really fun." (Robin from Giesbeek, Juni 2014)
- "Even if you have already gained some knowledge from books, this is a very useful workshop. I myself felt some reluctance to really start picking and especially eating them: is it really the right plant, is this allowed, what should I do with it? By going into the forest with experts, the theory started living more. You'll also learn how you can use the landscape to find the plants and what more you can do with them, such as fire and rope making. In other words, a great way to lay a solid bushcraft foundation in a few hours." (Participant in June 2014)
