My interest in bushcraft started around 2004, fueled by several survival books and documentaries. I took quite a few courses and workshops on a wide range of bushcraft techniques. In my student days I joined scouting, at which I participated a lot to the 'primitive activities' (wild camping, primitive fire, bow and arrow building etc.). Especially edible plants had my interest. After the first multi-day tours with only a daypack and what I could find in nature, I knew for sure: this is a passion that I will have my whole life. I also spent many weekends to experiment with bushcraft techniques: if I had read something interesting, it had to be tested in the forest. But also the other way around: if I found something in the woods that I did not know at all, then it went back home with me, to be studied using bushcraft and nature literature.

I gave my first bushcraft activities for my scouting group. I also organized several workshops and bushcraft weekends for my outdoor sports assoiciation. I completed a university minor 'Forest and Nature conservation'. From 2010 I started to organize workshops for associations, anniversaries and corporate events, which ultimately led to this organization: Liv'n Nature. I am also a PhD researcher, researching the relationship between biodiversity and public health. In my spare time I am active in the nature areas of Belgium, Germany and France as a climbing instructor.

I used to dream about living in the middle of the forest in a home made cabin or on a desert island. I've always been fascinated by the outdoors and interested in nature, which is not surprising with both parents as a biologist. As a child I preferred playing outside in the garden or the forest over sittin in front of the TV. And when it rained, I ran with my rain suit through the garden to splash the rain pools. I loved walking in the mountains with my parents and of course camping in a natural way on simple campsites. When I was older, of course I made several hikes with backpack. I am often in the woods where I can feel at home for just a moment.

From childhood on I was a member of scouting and have been active as staff there for 10 years. There I've learned many techniques. Through books, forums, and videos I have further specialized in bushcraft techniques (with of course a lot of practice, often together with Bram). I am also passionate about the mountains and like Bram I am active as a certified rock climbing instructor. As bushcraft instructor I want to share my knowledge and enthusiasm with others and of course further develop this.
